Amanda and Daddy attended a "Living In The Ocean" (LITO) Sleep-over camp at Sentosa Underwater World, organised by her school, specially for Father and Child from 16 November to 17 November 2010.... It was an ALL DADDIES affair... and NO MUMMIES allowed.... how sad....
We were so lucky that we decided to register for it at the last minute... and because it was last minute, I had to rush to school one afternoon during recess, to hand in the cheque just before the deadline... but it was definitely worth it cos Daddy said the bonding session was very good and the kids learnt alot... Time and effort well spent.... :))
amanda was so excited as it was her very first overnight camp and also her first time sleeping in a sleeping bag... i bought her a new bag for the camp....
inside her bag... sweater cos the underwater world was very cold esp at night as the temperature had to be maintained at 15 deg cel throughout for the fishes... torch so that they could wander around at night... and she brought a pillow...
amanda and daddy's bagpack & sleeping bag...
and they were all ready to go!!... look at the father & daughter in matching outfit!... :)) i dropped them off at seah imm car park on 16 nov... and then onwards, i had some "me" time... heeheehee....
programme for day 1 and day 2
upon arrival at underwater world
attending the safety briefing and orientation of the underwater world...
sealife talk
Q-ing for dinner... amanda told me she didn't like the dinner food...
their wrist passes...
having fun after dinner
games after dinner...
science quiz
the kids were all so enthusiastic and excited.... look at them!
light supper before shower and bedtime
having more fun after their shower
father and daughter.... amanda used to have 2 dimples like daddy... but i can't seem to find them now... hmmm... baby, where have your dimples gone to?....
lovely photo of daddy and amanda getting to sleep in their sleeping bags amidst the fishes... love this shot....
other dads getting ready for bed time too...
amanda in her garfield pyjamas... daddy told me not to let her wear such cartoon characters for future camps cos he got some kids asking him "are you garfield's daddy?".... hahaha... so cute.... hmm... maybe next time she should wear princess pj, so the kids will ask "are you the princess' daddy?".... and that makes him the KING!!!.... lolzz.....
kids wandering around with their torches and DSLRs.... daddy told me amanda slept at 1am and a few of the kids at 2am, while the daddies "konked off" after lights out... haha.... amanda also told me that as she was about to doze off, a group of kids shone their torches at her and asked her if she wanted to join them for some adventure around the underwater world... guess she was too tired and didn't join them... hmm... the kids sure had lotsa fun!
amanda and her new friends.... look at the girls! DSLR at this age??!!
interacting with the fishes... amanda was so happy that she got to touch the fish cos this evening when they gathered to touch the sting-ray, she was not able to do so as she was too short to reach the sting ray....
this girl was so cute... kept following her around and even wants to sleep with her... :)
isn't this a good shot?!
it's brekkie time!
look at her face... the zombied look... but it's very surprising that she was able to wake up at 7am... it usually takes us 30min to wake her up, but today, daddy told me, it took him 1min... all he did was "amanda, wake up... all of them have gone and you are the only one left"... very effective indeed! lolzzz!!!
look at their expressions!...
daddy!
walking to watch the sea lions
then they walked back to the auditorium for talks & movie (i think)...
daddies attended this talk
then they walked back to the same place to watch the pink dolphins... phew! can you imagine they walked back and forth so many times?... daddy told me it was tiring... and i saw a few dads the next day when we fetched amanda from school, and they told daddy they were shagged and knocked off the moment they reached home... lol...
a group photo
and they walked back to the meeting room for prize and certificate presentation before they walked to the carpark to take the bus back to seah imm... haha...
and here i was... waiting patiently for them... haha... good mummy huh?.... :))
daddy bought this pink dolphin soft toy from sentosa...
