A Day Of My Life At A&E....

I woke up this morning and my left shoulder felt extremely painful...  I thought it was the usual pain that I have been getting for the past few weeks, which usually becomes less painful after a few hours.  However, this time it was different...  The pain was excruciating and unbearable and it got worse instead of getting better...  It became too unbearable that I had to rush to the A&E.  It was so painful that I was unable to drive to the hospital and had to call a cab...  Daddy has gone off to work and luckily Amanda was in school as she has Table-Tennis CCA at 9am....  So my domestic helper accompanied me to the hospital...  I was surprised when I saw a White Mercedes Limousine driving towards me...  hmmm, so lucky, I got a limou taxi without paying extra for it...  :)  ok, enough of humour....

The pain was so unbearable that I was crying in pain and had to ask the nurses to give me priority treatment...  The situation was quite drama and embarrassing....  but who cares, when you are in pain!!  Doctor prescribed a jab for me and told me the pain would go away in 15 minutes' time...  but it was still painful after 1 hour!  Took many X-rays and the radiographer kept asking me to turn different angles...  it was so frustrating as I was already in pain and had to keep turning different angles and keep re-taking the X-rays because they didn't get the right angle...  sigh.....

After the X-rays, I was asked to wait again...  I told the nurses I couldn't take it anymore and I couldn't sit up straight, and hence I had to lie in bed for observation and while waiting for the Orthopaedic...  Pain didn't subside much, so I was given oral painkillers on top of the jab...  Haizzz...  what a traumatic experience for me....

(left) in the hospital still talking on the phone about work....  (right) daddy was trying to cheer me up by feeding me with my favourite har kouw.... i didn't eat anything since morning, pain was so excruciating that i couldn't even take my breakfast....

daddy was naughty, he insisted on taking these photos for my blog...  he says it's for remembrance...  haha!!...  who wants to remember such stuff anyway??....

by the way, i deliberately reduced the size of the photos, as i looked horrible that day....  heehee...

Daddy rushed over to see me around 1 pm immediately after his lecture.....  He was lucky as he was allowed valet parking without paying extra...  Daddy stayed with me for a few hours before he had to leave for work again....

Doctor diagnosed me with Prolapse Invertebral Disc (he said some kind of slipped disc of the neck) and gave me 2 weeks' of hospitalisation leave till 31 May 2010, much to my surprise!...  When he told me, I was gasping like "Huhh????  2 WEEEEKKSSS!!!"  He said, "Yes, you need to rest and cannot overstrain yourself and I will see you 2 weeks later, and if there is a need, we will then do the MRI"....  hahaha...  OMG!  My boss is gonna freak out when she hears this....  All the loads of work that I had to settle, and I was supposed to fly off for work this week or next...  Now all these have to be put on hold....

My maid and I took a cab home when I was ready to be "discharged" for the day around 5plus in the evening.... with loads of painkillers for me....  Sigh...  Pain pain pain!!!...  But thank goodness it's my left side that's painful and not my right, otherwise life will be tough....  now....  when will I be able to drive again?......
amanda bought me some flowers when she followed daddy and kakak for grocery shopping this morning (19may)...  she was hiding it in her hands when she came up to look for me...

she proudly presented the flowers to me saying "mummy, wishing you a speedy recovery"...  awww....  isn't she sweet?...  but i asked her why she chose this flower cos there are so many nicer flowers around... and she told me she finds the flowers so lovely... i was like, errrmmmm.....  ok, anything from my little darling is lovely....  *smiles*......
