Hokkaido Winter Wonderland, Day 5

We checked out of Rusutsu Resort this morning...  Oooh, we loved the hotels of the past 3 nights!  Probably because they were all resort style and they come with lovely Onsen and the previous night's hotel even had an indoor heated play pool!! How nice!
i love the breakfast here... especially their freshly baked sausage bun.... mmm.... ate 4 of these buns...  yumzz!!
checking out of the resort and loading luggages to the coach...  oh did i mention this place was exceptionally windy? the winds were so strong that you just feel like rushing up the coach...
beautiful scenery from coach... too beautiful not to capture on my camera....
arrival at otaru...
(left) famous leTAO cheese cake... (right) map of otaru town...
the tour guide was explaining to us, but i guess we were just too engrossed in taking photos than listening...  haha...
chocolate sampling...
just cannot get enough of the snow! what to do? we don't have 4 seasons here in singapore....
kitaichi glass factory...
otaru orgel doh... the otaru music box museum....

my favourite shot!!!... can you see that it is ONE snowflake on daddy's scarf? beautiful shot, isn't it?!
dandruff! haha!! by the way, i wonder why my hair has turned so straight?! was it due to the extreme cold temperature?

trying to do a star jump... but guess it's not very easy with the thick clothing.... heehee...

(right) daddy making a snowman baby....
family photo in this romantic otaru town...
daddy's snowbaby...
i love the sight of snow on leaves....

stopping over at leTAO for tea break...  we were not hungry but we had to try the cheese cake since we have come all the way here...  we sat on the 2nd floor of the restaurant...

mmm.... yummy.... but it would have been better if we had more time here to relax, sip our coffee and savour the taste of the cheese cake instead of rushing through...
i seem to have a special affinity with trees...  haha!!!
it was freezing cold here at minus 2 deg cel according to daddy's thermometer...  i was trying to control not wearing gloves as it hinders when i take pictures....
cute bears which i so love...  would have bought a few bears here if i had the time... what a pity! we only had enough time for photos before running to the coach.... haiz...
very very cold.... while walking to the coach to proceed for our lunch..
look at the way they prepared our fish for lunch...
our soup...
delicious scallops....
yummilicious seafood lunch!
playing by the beach outside the restaurant...
next stop - arrival at otaru canal...
daddy likes trees too! haha!!!

daddy with the kids...
temperature hovered aroundd 1.5 to 1.8 deg cel over here... the temp kept fluctuating every other minute, so it is not easy to capture the lowest temp...  i managed to capture a shot of the 1.6 deg cel but didn't display the photo here...  it is in my fb...

otaru canal.... love this family photo and also the scene...
sitting on cold ice!...  haha... it was daddy's idea of asking me to pose here...
the chow yun fatt pose...  hahaha!!!

amanda looking cute and mummy trying to act cute!... heehee....
daddy's overgrown baby...
Off to Toy Museum...
underground tunnel... love the effect....
sharing jokes and riddles during the journey...
having fun with the revolving door...
picnocchio...  hmm...  did my nose grow any longer?...

amanda says : "dear santa, please visit me this christmas with a gift"...
astro boy!!!!
lie detector?....  haha....  ok, now...  lemme ask... "has amanda been a good girl in school?"...

(left) amanda shaking hands with the dog...  (right) 3 little pigs popping out to say hello...
it's snowing again...  love the feeling...
it was sooo cooold....
leaning tower of pisa otaru....  heehee....

Shopping for goodies here as recommended by the tour guide.... so everyone bought their 白色恋人 from here....

a treat from janie...
heehee... we seem to be advertising for this shop...
we snacked again... but it was really yummy...
entering a pet shop...
ooohh lovely puppies....
satisfied and happy mummies with yummilicious goodies....
amanda eating a cute bunny...
i (instead of amanda) love it... haha...
teppanyaki dinner at this restaurant... where we added kobe beef to our meal...
mainly seafood...

our AA (double A) grade kobe beef....  and it comes with a cert too.... we were given 2 options i.e. single A or double A grade... all our tour members chose single A except our 2 families...  heehee... since we are here, must try the best la...  haha!!
daddy taking a picture with the chef before he brought our kobe beef to cook...
kobe beef all ready for consumption...  mmm....  look at the expressions of 3 of us below...
daddy's expression....  mmm.....
mummy's expression...  mmm...  melts in the mouth!!!
guess amanda didn't quite know how to appreciate it, but she liked it... hence a "GOOD" sign...
 flushed after the dinner...
More sightseeing after dinner...  Visited Odori Park by night where they had the Chrismas Night Market similar to Germany... followed by a walking tour in Susukino (red light district)...
tokeidao clock tower...
sapporo tv tower (nhk tower) behind amanda...
0.4 deg cel...
lightings at the christmas night market in odori park... reminds me of germany though this is of a much smaller scale... can you see the snowflakes falling?...
family photo... we took a picture using janie's dslr where she managed to capture the snowflakes...
last night shot before we boarded the coach to susukino...
streets of susukino... by night... sleazy....
happy amanda...  kids should have been kept out of bounds over here.... but anyway, their red light district is not as bad as amsterdam where they have window displays of real life mannequins....
along the way, we saw bouncers, pimps, geishas, male and female hostesses, gigolos etc... but the gigolos aren't appealing at all... they look like bengs....  haha...  no photos of them as we didn't dare to take any pictures...
ramen street.... by night....

Checking into the hotel which our tour guide said was a 5-star hotel... but we didn't quite agree though...
our room... not too impressive, but maybe really good to japanese standards especially since this is sapporo and not the outskirts plus japanese hotels tend to be small, but this is relatively huge...
bathroom was huge though... haha....
snacking after shower...
and ohhh... we love their instant lemon vit c capsules... if only they have it here in singapore...
