YEAH!!! It is snowing!!!!! Heard from one of our tour group member that it started raining at 3am early this morning, hence the snow on the ground... Everybody was so elated when it snowed. Can you imagine coming to Hokkaido during winter and yet there is no snow? This was exacly our sentiments the past few days... but not anymore!!!!!! :))
we awoke to this lovely view this morning.... :))
i had a hard time waking amanda up this morning... however, the moment i said "it's snowing!!!" she sprung up from bed... look at her!!! haha!!

Caramel Making...
a family photo before starting...
daddy and amanda...
ingredients...
Step 1 : Add sugar and stir it under low fire.
Step 2 : When sugar turns slightly brown, add fresh cream and stir again.
Step 3 : Add milk and stir again.
Step 4 : Caramel is ready when the mixture thickens.
*You may want to vary the taste of caramel by adjusting the ingredients according to your own preference.
**The colour of the caramel also depends on the colour of the sugar.
***The longer you cook the sugar, the darker brown it is and it will give a bitter after taste, hence... it's all up to individual preference. Try it and vary accordingly.
Good luck and have fun!!!
ready caramel...
yummy caramel...
amanda was so cute... after she got the caramel from the person next to us, she walked straight to her seat and started eating them all by herself... haha... this photo was taken from where i was standing, using my zoom feature...
our caramel had a slightly bitter aftertaste as amanda had overdone the sugar at stage 1...
onigiri before snow bbq lunch...
daddy trying to act cute.... lolz!
amanda enjoying her beef...
Arrival at Rusutsu Ski Resort...
rushing to the amusement centre for photos whilst daddy unloaded our luggages from the coach...
our room... dropped our luggages and headed off for snow tubing... unfortunately the snow level was insufficient for skiing...
she was contemplating this when she finally decided on the tube...
amanda had so much fun playing on her own before daddy joined her later... by the way, each of us were given 3 chances, but since daddy and i didn't want our ride, amanda could go 9 times!!!
look at their faces! by the way, it was freezing cold here, especially with the strong winds... i think i got frost bite on my cheeks here....
mini snowboyman...
making a huge snowball...
all the 7 kids in our tour group came together to play...
elated amanda... and look at her rosy cheeks!
can you see her rosy cheeks?... i think it would be clearer if it was taken using a dslr... :))
taking a tram to the other tower of the ski resort...
back to our tower for more snowplay before it turns dark...
the kids were really having lots of fun!!!
family photo before we went back to the room to get ready for dinner...
we were given vouchers where we could choose between buffet, traditional japenese meal, french etc... but we chose buffet as it was within our tower... the rest of the restaurants were located at the other side, which required us to take a tram over... but no regrets having our dinner here cos the food was great!
(right) to the left is the restaurant for buffet restaurant while to the right is the italian restaurant...
outside the restaurant...
(left) special ramen which was ubber delicious and daddy ate 4 bowls of this... i ate 1 bowl of this too... (right) the crab legs here were the best so far... super fresh and succulent... mmm....
the ice cream here is so delicious... can you imagine i ate 4 types of ice cream!! thank goodness for the mini sized ice cream...
play at the indoor amusement park/arcade... the kids sat the carousel 6 times!... and they also played the rodeo shooting game...
(left) amanda came in first and was given 2 vouchers for redemption! look at her face!! (right) choosing her gifts....
a happy amanda!!!
That ends Day 4 of our tour.... and I think Amanda must have gone to bed smiling in her sleep and dreams... :))
