Yippie.... we are going to Phillip Island to see the Penguin Parade today... It was a very long outing... Can you imagine Joan fetched us from the hotel slightly before 12 noon and she sent us back to the hotel just before 11pm? The drive there was very long and also considering Joan's speed since we were chatting along the way... hmmm, but it doesn't matter cos we enjoyed ourselves throughout the journey....
Some fun shots below, after brekkie while waiting for Joan...
On the way to Phillip Island....Some fun shots below, after brekkie while waiting for Joan...
arrival at phillip island... finally... amanda looking a little "stoned" after such a long drive....
look at the strong winds...
by the way, it was super duper cold here...
we had fish and chips for lunch (ermmm... actually it was tea time by then) over at this restaurant...
the side dishes... omg! what a huge quantity
After lunch, we headed to the Koala Observatory to get the tickets for the Penguin Parade... It was actually more worth it to get 3-in1 tickets to watch the Koalas, Penguins and I cannot remember what the 3rd was... but because we had limited time, we could only get the Penguin Parade... how sad... But as a consolation, Daddy decided to purchase the Penguin PLUS tickets instead of the usual ones; where you get to see the penguins much up closer and at the same time, there will be much more penguins coming our way.... hmmm... so.... you pay more, you get more.... haha...
it was very chilly waiting by the beach in the open for the penguins to arrive... but definitely worth it!!
no photography was allowed inside the parade grounds, so we were frantically taking pictures of every snapshots outside for remembrance...
i love these 2 signs... drive slowly, penguins on roads at night... and please check under your cars for penguins... how cute...
We realised we were allowed to take pictures indoors (but within certain areas), so here are more photos....
our tickets... the other 3 adult tickets were clipped below and i was too lazy to remove the clip...
it was 1hr 48mins countdown to the penguins... how exciting!
we breaked for coffee and snacks before the penguin parade... amanda looking so happy with the penguin that joan bought for her...
last shot before entering the parade grounds...
It was such a wonderful experience inside watching the penguins... They came to shore in batches and by the hundreds... In total, we saw about 1,000 penguins... Can you imagine that??!!... All of us enjoyed ourselves so much as we came close to the penguins watching them in their natural habitat... some were waddling around whilst some were looking around for mates, and of course we saw quite a few pairs of penguins mating too.... How interesting... What a pity photography was not allowed....
after the parade... one last photo before we leave phillip island....
and.... what we brought back with us from Phillip Island were the beautiful memories we spent amongst the penguins and this lovely family photo below......
the sim family.... wonderful memories at phillip island...
This photo was a gift from Joan together with a few other different sizes and fridge magnets with our faces and she also bought me an Official Guide to Phillip Island Nature Park for remembrane... Thanks Joan for the gifts, for driving us all the way to Phillip Island and most importantly, your hospitality....
We returned to our hotel close to 11pm and were already too tired to dine in at any restaurants... so after shower, Daddy went downstairs to the Chinese Restaurant to pack our late dinner (almost supper)...
by the way, the roast pork and roast duck were delicious! amanda wanted congee so daddy bought 2 bowls of it... haha...
enjoying our supper in the room at our own comfort.... nice.... look at daddy wearing his ninja turtle vest... aiya, daddy, the price tags are still on la... lol..
After that, it was time for WORK!.... Work, because we've got a flight to catch tomorrow, and so, we had to start packing and start thinking how we want to stuff our stuff (notice the pun) into our luggage... so Amanda and I started rolling our clothes into tiny pieces and stuffing them into every little corners we could find... and finally, we managed to squeeze everything in, with the seams of the zips almost bursting....
PHEEEEEWWWW!!!!!
