Melbourne Day 4

Another Rest & Relax day for Amanda and I....  Hmmm....  that's the advantage of Free & Easy...  own time own target....  :))  We slept in till almost noon too...  hah, we seem to be sleeping alot this trip...  resting and rejuvenating ourselves...  but surprisingly, both Amanda and I still look very tired in all our photos this trip....  even my Sis tells me so....  Very strange right?....  maybe, that's the side effects of "oversleeping"....  hahaha!!!!
daddy making aussie half-boiled eggs....
amanda woke up so early today, just to send daddy off to work and then both of us got back to sleep again, till noon....  yawnzz....  (right) amanda kissing daddy goodbye...
(right) amanda trying out the spare bed given by the hotel....
we went to take a look at the pool before we set off for victoria market....
we love the heated pool especially the jacuzzi....
the gym was good too...  i brought my gym attire, but never got to use it the entire trip....  haiz... just not disciplined...  (right) amanda trying the treadmill, though she was definitely inappropriately dressed....
outside the pool....
at victoria market....

we finally arrived at victoria market after such a long walk from our hotel (cannot remember if it was 30mins or 45mins)...  everybody we asked said it is within walking distance....  haiz....  we were panting and almost breathless...  the aussies are so used to walking and whenever we asked them for directions, they will say "it's just right ahead"... and if i asked if it was far, they would answer "nay nay, just round the corner about 15 mins from here"....  omg!!  back in singapore, i drive even if it is 5 mins walk... and here we are in melbourne walking like nobody's business....  lol!!!
amanda looking so happy with her loot....
we met daddy after work....  skies turned dark very early eventhough it was spring...
we had dinner at wonton house and fell in love with the food....  we ended up having a few of our meals here throughout our trip...
wonton noodles soup...
amanda's fish congee and my noodles... i think it's zha jiang mian...
daddy ordered an additional bowl of duck congee... it was their specialty dish and daddy drooled when he saw the picture on the wall of the restaurant...  however, the actual congee didn't seem as good as the picture on the wall... but it tasted great nonetheless...  :))
daddy savouring the duck congee after his bowl of noodles....
daddy and prof r. smith....

Back to our hotel, Amanda and I were busy sorting our loot we bought from the shopping malls, souvenir shops and Victoria Market...  We didn't get much from Victoria Market as we arrived there quite late and the market closed at 2pm (on a Tuesday)...  Luckily we didn't plan to go there the next day (Wednesday) as the market is closed on every Weds...
our loot... mainly amanda's clothes which i bought from the shopping malls....
amanda's heelys... she has been eyeing this pair of shoes for a while from singapore to hong kong and finally we bought it in melbourne....  and we bought this pair of boots for amanda...  it was a steal since the mall had 50% off this pair of boots....  :))
(left) amanda all ready for hokkaido trip....  (right) trying if her clothes fit cos i was too lazy to let her try them at the shopping centre....
and we were off to swim in the indoor heated pool....  can you imagine we brought amanda's "board" all the way here?....  the water was so warm and comfy... but the moment we got out of the pool, it was freezing cold...  can you imagine swimming when the night temperature was around 6-7 deg cel?....
having fun at the jacuzzi pool....
another family photo... this time in the jacuzzi pool...  daddy says luckily we were using our compact camera... can you imagine using a dslr here?....  not quite possible since our hands are all wet and there was slight steam because of the heat in the pool....  daddy says "very heart-pain if we were using a dslr"... lol!!!
we were feeling very hungry after the swim and so we went downstairs across the road to one of the vietnamese chinese restaurant and "tapowed" supper....  wow, enjoy sia.....  heehee...

see what we ate...  we ordered plain congee and ate it with roast pork, roast duck and roast chicken....  woohoo...  imagine having these in melbourne?...  anyway, daddy is very "chinese" and prefers chinese food....  by the way, a box (bowl) of plain congee costs AU$5....  quite expensive since it costs only S$1 per bowl in singapore....
amanda learnt to be independent during this trip as kakak was not around to clear up, so she had to help bring the dishes, cups etc to the kitchen... and now she's helping me to fold the clothes as i was too lazy to do so....  she was folding while i was in the hall face-booking....  hahahaha!!!

took a picture of this tag because daddy wanted me to do so... lol....

What an eventful night today....  Imagine us doing so much after dinner...  and back to the hotel we still had time to sort out our loot, go for a swim and then still go downstairs to buy supper...
