Kim's Korean Food...

I have always loved Korean food and it was only recently that I realised that there are 2 Korean restaurants near my place...  Imagine having lived here for 11 years??!!...  My original plan was to try the Korean food at Woori something... but it was super crowded outside Kim's Family Food, so Daddy said why not join the crowd...  and the verdict?....  NO regrets!!!
the main entrance...  they are doing do well that they even have an additional unit beside them to cater to the crowd...  but i was lucky to get seats in the main restaurant....
daddy and amanda patiently waiting for their turn...
our appetisers....  how exciting....
look at their faces!  daddy said all of a sudden he felt like he was the king in jewel in the palace (da chang jin)....

mushrooms, anchovies (really yummy) & steamed fish....
kimchi, radish & veg....
some kind of radish & steamed tofu....  tofu was nice...
and more appetisers...  amanda and i love the fruit salad (extreme left)....
getting ready to serve us our seafood steamboat....  we chose this dish out of so many because we saw this dish being featured on channel 8 (in their shop) and daddy pointed to them "i want this"...  hahaha...
tada!!!...  our yummilicious seafood steamboat....  watch the colour change over the next few photos...  :))
amanda loves her beef bulgogi set which comes with seafood soup....  this set was a really good deal....  what amazed her even more was the rice which was served in the metal bowl together with the long metal chopsticks and spoon...

Amanda went like "oooh wahhhh....  the bowl so nice..."  Then she continued with "mmmm... the rice so nice"....  and "I love Korean food"....  Haha...  She was really funny and I was wondering why she behaved so "suaku" as she has tried Korean food but maybe her first time in a proper Korean restaurant (i guess)...  Probably she tried when she was much younger and may have forgotten...  I asked her why she got all excited and she told me this is the first time she sees rice being served in a metal bowl, so she got very excited!  I asked "I thought you have seen it when you were in Korea?"...  and she replied "Mummy, I have never been to Korea before!"..........   Ahhhh...  so I was mistaken...  I forgot she has never been to Korea.  I had mixed up the Japan trip with Korea...  I personally love Korea and have been there several times...  :))

mmm..  i was eager to try out the dishes too...
amanda finished almost the entire plate of beef bulgogi.... and 1.5 bowls of rice.....
our seafood....  there were crabs, sotongs, prawns, oysters, clams, mushrooms, tofu, beansprouts (can't remember what else)....  it's almost ready, but not yet....  so we just got to be a little more patient...
can you see the colour has turned orange?...  yes, it's now ready...  let's tuck in!...
look at the joy on her face!...
she loves the gravy....  can you see the expression on her face?....  i can tell she was really full to the brim...  don't tickle her or she'll regurgitate....  haha....
guests leaving their names behind...  but this time, we didn't leave ours cos they didn't provide any pens, unlike udders ice cream....
a cool cup of cinnamon drink to freshen our tastebuds after the meal...  complimentary on the house...  i love it, but daddy and amanda didn't like it....  daddy felt as if he was drinking one of the essential oils that i usually burn at night....  haha!
and complimentary water-melons...
i just realised as i am blogging, that we were served 4 slices instead of 3...  :))
daddy's great shot as i was settling the bill at the cashier....  very well taken right?....
what a cute puppy....
daddy got her to pose as one too....
the inside of the restaurant...  very simple setting but food is great and price is reasonable.....
a family photo before we left the restaurant...  taken by the cashier from her counter...

The Korean cashier was so cute...  She asked me if there was anything they could do to improve, but I told her I was perfectly pleased with everything here....  Then she leaned forward and whispered to me "Sorry, can I ask you a question?"....  Amanda and I were surprised when she asked this question...  but I answered her "Yes, why not..."...  She asked "May I know how much is your Chanel bag?".  When I told her the retail price costs S$X,XXX she gasped covering her mouth and stared at me wide-eyed....  hahaha...  her expression was really funny and cute!

Our dinner was very refreshing and enjoyable...  Amanda enjoyed it so much and she's now bugging us to bring her there again...  Her favourite dish there?.....  RICE!!!...  hahaha...  She told me she loves the rice with the beef....  Hmmm....  at least we tried something new today.....  :))
