Lantern Making

Babe told us around 10 pm last night that she had to make a Lantern and bring it to school by the next day....  We were like....  OH MY GOD!!!... Why the last minute work?  So immediately Daddy went up to the Study Room and took down whatever materials he could find, and we immediately got down to work.... Thank goodness, we had some materials at home which we could use, re-use, re-cycle and improvise.....

amanda and her lantern.... look at the mess behind her....

she is sooo pleased with her lantern.... that she requested for more pictures to be taken before she brought them to school....

and.... she was ready to bring it to school.....

The entire family was involved in the process....  My domestic helper was helping me to cut & paste pieces of papers till almost 11.30 pm when I told her to go the bed as it was a little too late.....  So Babe, Daddy and I continued till almost 1 am that night....  Daddy's involvement mainly to give moral support and provide feedback....

It was hard work as we had to make do with whatever materials we had at the moment....  however, I enjoyed the entire process very much.  Looking at the end result, it was definitely very worth it!!  I was very satisfied with my piece of artwork....  I didn't realise I had that little bit of creativity in me too!  Must have inherited the genes from Mum.....  HAHA!!!

Babe brought the lantern to school and her teacher said it was LOVELY!.....  Immediately Amanda and another boy classmate's lanterns were being shortlisted and being brought down to the Teachers' Room.....  Amanda was elated!  She was very grateful to me for all that I had done for her.....  *smiles*
