I was in Dubai from 30 March 2010 to 2 April 2010 on a last minute trip to settle some employee issues..... The weather this time was good... around 20 degrees to 30 degrees and it can get quite cooling at night especially when the wind blows... a far cry from my last trip when the moment I stepped out of the airport... It was 3am then, and I was wondering where the heat came from.... I thought it was the exhaust and engine heat from all the cars waiting... but IT WASN'T!!!... It was really the Dubai HEAT!!!
my hotel room....
right : toilet bowl... left : for washing up.... LOL!!!
the hotel lobby....
outside wafi mall.... went there to get the latest copy of the UAE employment act, but unfortunately, the bookstore had recently shifted out of the mall....
lovely, isn't it?....
had dinner at wafi gourmet....
i was craving for hummus before i arrived dubai... so die die must order this when i am here.... but a pity the serving was too large and i couldn't finish it... would be nice if there were 2 of us....
my dinner.... arabic chicken shawarm....
i felt a little odd to dine alone... but the waiter was so sweet to help me take a picture... :)
arabic sweet treats... what a pretty sight.... looks delicious and i was so tempted to buy some to try... but my stomach was almost bursting with my dinner food.... some other time maybe.... i told myself this during my last dubai trip too... haha...
in the hotel lobby on the way to breakfast....
delicious complimentary lebanese breakfast at ayam zaman lebanese restaurant....
trying out lebanese porridge.... which is actually oats cooked with some other ingredients (i couldn't taste it out)... wanted to try this during my last trip, but breakfast then was like only 10 minutes to gobble my food.....
near the taxi stand... taking a taxi to sharjah for the jewellery and watch exhibition....
i was helping out my colleagues on the jewellery pieces and couldn't resist taking a picture of this ring...
my singapore and hong kong colleagues....
I was at the sharjah exhibition till 10 plus when our customer invited my boss and I for late dinner... I was too tired to join them... instead i got a lift from him out of sharjah and took a cab back to my hotel in dubai....
my room service late dinner (11pm, late right?)... what can be more relaxing than to have my room service dinner in the privacy of my own room after a hot shower at the end of a hard day's work.... hmmm.....
close up view of my indian nasi bryani... it was delicous... but serving was a tad to huge....
at dubai airport....
my macdonald's dinner before departure... i love to try the macs in various countries whenever i travel..
dubai's cost of living is quite high... the big mac meal costs slightly under S$9.... hey look at the number packets of chilli sauce they indicated on the receipt... a total of 20??!!... OMG!! they only gave me 3 packets of chilli and 2 packets of tomato sauce...
waiting for departure on sq491....
home sweet home.... arrived home on a good friday public holiday... yippie... can't wait to go home to spend time with my family.... :))
I am falling in love with Dubai.... The first thing I wanna try is the 4wheel dune ride in the desert and having a BBQ campfire in the middle of the desert amongst camels.... ooohh.... soooo romantic you know.... Imagine yourself sitting on the "magic carpet" with your loved ones, in the middle of the desert having a BBQ campfire dinner....*dreams*.... My parents tried it in Dubai some 20 years ago, and they thoroughly enjoyed it.... Can you imagine they actually tried it 20 years ago, and I haven't even tried it???
I'm trying to persuade Daddy to agree that we make Dubai our holiday destination.... I was planning for June, but then again, we are quite worried about the weather coz the temperature may go as high as 50 degree celcius during Summer.... Winters in Dubai will be great since temperature will dip to as low as 13 degree celcius.... so maybe December will be a better time... haha.... Oh dear, I am just so fickle... :)) Will I ever make this trip happen? I'm confident it will happen if I plan it for June but the thought of 50 degree celcius puts me off.... December is too far away to plan and by then, I may consider other places....
Well....... let's see how it goes....
