Our Little Guest

Andrea followed me home from office this evening, to play with Amanda....  Amanda was of course very happy and excited when she heard I was coming home with a little guest....  :))  The girls had so much fun together; from dinner to doing homework to car ride to supper then for Udders ice-cream and back home for table-tennis and UNO...

Marj & Fai came over to fetch her from my house slightly after 12 midnight and we chatted for a while till past 1am...  Andrea was still so reluctant to go back and she wanted to stay here for the night... but then again, the next morning, she has a family gathering at Universal Studios, so she might as well go back home to sleep since she lives in Sentosa Cove which is just a stone's throw from Universal Studios....  They also invited Amanda to stay over and then to join them for Universal Studios the next day; which we politely declined...  Some other time during the June hols maybe cos SA1 is just too near and round the corner....  :))
the girls meet again....
andrea emjoying our rocking chair and still in her uniform...  i asked her to take a shower here, but she's so cute, she told me "my mummy says cannot shower at people's house"....  haha....
the girls enjoying the car ride and the breeze blowing onto their faces....  they were practically screaming "wheeeee"......
a game of chess in the car....
the girls enjoying their qoo drink....
and hor fun....  we had wanted to bring her to old town white coffee, but we changed our mind in the last minute because andrea chose to sit in daddy's car and parking was a little difficult at old town and daddy didn't want to drive his car there....
next we adjourned to udders ice cream at lorong kilat which was just round the corner from the coffeeshop....

chocolate with biscuits ice cream...
my strawberry ice cream on waffle...
daddy's mao shan wang durian ice cream on waffle....  this was really yummy and we could really taste the durian pulp....
signing off with their signatures before leaving the place....

I forgot to take pictures of the girls when they were playing after we came back from supper and ice cream....  so no photographs....  Nonetheless, they girls had so much fun together.....

Amanda's Little Solar Grasshopper

Some time ago around 7 April (I think), Amanda made a Little Solar GRASSHOPPER during her Robotics class in school.  She showed me in the evening but was not able to demonstrate its movement to me as it was already late at night and the little grasshopper needs sunlight.  She later suggested using a torch, which wasn't successful as well...

Then on the very next day as I was in the office, I received a SMSed from her which says : "Mummy can you switch on your blue tooth?"...  I asked why and she said she wanted to MMS me a video.  I told her blue tooth is only meant for close proximity and I told her to show it to me when I am back home tonight....  I smiled to myself as I read the SMS as she's just sooo cute....  It is just sooo amazing to see her holding her grasshopper in one hand and videoing herself on the other hand and then walking outdoor to capture the sunlight to make it move....  Each time when I am tired in the office, I will just click on the video and just looking at it brings a smile to my face......  and all tiredness is gone.....

Today, I took a day off from work to recuperate as I was feeling under the weather... hence I was able to watch my little darling get ready for school and send her up the school bus....  how nice....  :))

amanda finishing her water while waiting for the school bus....
she took the opportunity to show me how the little grasshopper works under strong sunlight.....
my first time seeing it move, other than the video above...
she put the grasshopper on my palm and wanted me to feel the ticklish movement....  haha...  it was really ticklish, but fun....  and it feels great to be able to have some fun with her....  i'm missing this feeling since i started work.... sigh....
she was showing me the effects of shadow on the grasshopper's movement i.e. effects of solar and that it can only work when there is sunlight, and when there is no sunlight (blocked by her hand), the grasshopper will not move....  hmmmm....  she must have experimented it when she was bored and all alone at home in the mornings of the past few weeks....
experimenting at a different distance....
under strong sunlight, it moved really fast especially downslope and within seconds, the grasshopper was almost on the main road.....
soon she saw her school bus coming up, and she started walking out....
waiting for the school bus as it was doing a u-turn....  it's so nice to see her off to school, especially when you see all her friends smiling and waving to me from the school bus....  how sweet.....

Side-tracking a little....  Last night we decided to buy back supper instead of eating out as all of us were tired...  so while Daddy was waiting for the food to be ready, Amanda and I watched video in the car.....

Bosses Restaurant

Another food post...

Today, we had dinner at BOSSES Restaurant at Vivo City...  We are regulars here and Amanda has been enjoying their Fish Congee ever since they opened doors in 2006....  Daddy and I are quite open, and we enjoy everything on their menu from set menu to tim sum to congee to noodles....  Actually tonight, Daddy had planned to order dishes to go with rice, but Amanda didn't want to and insisted on eating the Fish Congee and nothing else...  so in the end Daddy and I ordered just noodles instead....
my favourite rose tea.....  rejuvenating and good for complexion....  *ahem ahem*...
good view of resorts world sentosa from the restaurant....
amanda's fish congee...  but i felt standard has dropped slightly as it is now quite dilute/watery....
amanda looking so satisfied... can you see daddy's hand at the corner, trying to pinch her youtiao?....
hey, don't use your hands!
daddy and i ordered the same....  sichuan dan dan noodles...  but it looks and tastes so different from the one i had at beijing, when i was telling daddy to order this and telling him how nice it was... so sad....  this version is sichuan style which means sour & spicy...
a satisfied customer at bosses restaurant...   黑社会 in mandarin....
On a sidenote, I bought for Amanda and myself a pair of ear-rings....  Retail therapy does help to relieve stress....  and also, I am so grateful that Huiting's parents have offered to fetch Amanda and then send back from enrichment class....  thus enabling me to take a short nap....  Thanks so much, Janie!

My 2nd Anniversary....

How time flies....  It's been 2 years since I first started blogging on 24 April 2008 and there has been no regrets since then....  I am enjoying every bit of it and I hope to continue in the years to come...

Blogging is an avenue for me to record the wonderful memories and precious moments which I spend with my loved ones...  An outing becomes a normal outing which will soon be forgotten after a while...  However, when I post it in my blog with photos, it becomes beautiful memories which we will treasure forever, and each time Daddy and I read our posts in our blog, we can't help but talk about each outing or incident with a smile on our faces....  Even Amanda enjoys reading my blog....  Do you know something?   These days, Daddy is even posing for photographs and asking me to blog about it...  and there were times when I forgot to take a picture of stuff, and he will remind me...  haha.....

Okie...  now back to my blogging on my post....  and it's about FOOOOOD again......  Daddy says I should be doing a food blog instead....
amanda pinching on my grilled chicken with mexican sauce....  yummy but very spicy....
didn't know when her hand was on her forehead....  haha....
mmmm.....  yum yumm.....

Later in the afternoon, we headed to Alishan Porridge at 1008 Upper Serangoon Road for Teochew Porridge teabreak.  They serve very good Teochew porridge with a large variety of food and opens till 1.30am......
our spread of food...  we ordered sweet potato porridge but i forgot to take a picture of it....
the topshell was delicious...
After the meal, we headed to Bt Timah for our weekly grocery (which explains why our maid was with us) where we met Emily's parents....  Usually it has been Daddy who has been doing the weekly grocery eversince I started working...  but this week he was super busy and we realised we had not much food in the fridge; which explains the weekend grocery shopping and rushing with the crowd....
