Interesting Food At Chinatown

We went to Chinatown as we wanted to buy the guavas for Gu Ma and Gu Zhang to try especially since we are quite sure they would not have seen this in New Zealand....

amanda playing at home before we left for chinatown.....

Other than the guavas which we bought, we also bought the following food which tasted fabulous!

this spicy noodle from chongqing was one of the yummiest noodles i've tasted....

I heard everyone asking for less chilli....  however, when it was my turn, I said "more chilli please"...  The lady answered me in Mandarin in her ChongQing accent that this is China's spicy style, not like Singapore, and is very spicy...  With that, I humbly asked her (even though I'm a chilli queen)....  "do you have medium spicy instead?"..... and I told her next time I will try the extra spicy version...  Haha!!!  OMG!!!  I tell you....  the medium was already super HOT!!!  Luckily she forewarned me....  phew!!!

daddy was burning!

also bought this chongqing bun from their stall...  S$2 per bun....  but this bun tasted quite ordinary....

and yes....  this spicy chongqing duck wings at S$1.50 each....  really delicious!

we also bought this fish soup and fish rice soup from one of the food stall in the food centre...  the soup's really delicious... and most importantly...  it states outside the shop "NO MSG"!!!!  and it is really true!!!  GREAT!

We also bought some tim sum stuff from Ho Kee Pau....  BEST!....  Daddy, Amanda and I had our hands full of food as we walked to the carpark for our car....  feeling really satisfied.....  :))

10 years ago, Daddy and I couldn't understand why or how anyone would go to Chinatown as we considered Chinatown YUCKS!!!  But NOW, here we are happily walking in Chinatown with our hands all full of food....  haha....

THE CONCLUSION?????

We are getting old... and are now able to blend into the crowd of old folks in Chinatown....  LOL!!!
