Our family had our very first Reunion Dinner (lunch) for the very first time in 8 years....... All these while, it was always reunion dinner with the whole family, and there were occassions when we invited my parents over for steamboat dinner, but since we had Amanda, our family had never had a Steamboat Reunion Dinner before, as most of the time we were away on holidays...
We decided to have steamboat lunch only on the night of the eve, when we were doing our grocery around midnight... At that time, we were not even sure if our steamboat set was with us, or if we had left it at Mum's house... but nonetheless, we bought the food for it.... The next morning when my helper told me the steamboat set was with us, we got all excited about having our very first reunion together.... Mum and Dad did not join us as we were all very busy with our CNY preparations especially since we were leaving for Malacca early in the morning the next day.... Mum was busy with the cleaning and packing at her home; whilst I was busy with packing of clothes and red packets etc....Moreover, our family has already eaten our reunion dinner 2 weeks ago....
Our faithful Zojirushi steamboat set has been with us for the past 20 years and it is very precious and dear to us, with great sentimental value.... How did we get this steamboat set?... Well.... it was a gift when Daddy and I deposited some cash as Fixed Deposit and since then, we have eaten 20 reunion steamboat dinners in this... year after year it is being brought to Dad/Mum's place whenever we have a reunion.... :))

In the evening, we went over to Dad and Mum's house to bring over the goodies and at the same time 拜年to them first before we leave for Malacca together the next morning... We brought along our red packets for them, goodies and mandarin oranges...... Of course, we received red packets from them in return too.... *smiles*

After 拜年 and enjoying goodies at Dad and Mum's place, we rushed off to settle whatever last minute errands / preparations for CNY and our trip....
we were so touched when amanda gave us red packets at midnight.... she gave each of us S$2.10... till now, i still do not know why or how she came out with this amount of S$2.10... but she told us she took the cash from her pocket money... so sweet of her.... babe, mummy and daddy are so proud of you.... :))
Alrighty, I am now off to pack the red packets for tomorrow's trip.....
