Buffet Lunch At Sakura

Today marks the last day of the Lunar New Year i.e. the 15th day of CNY...  Here's wishing everyone
元宵节快乐!

My maid is off today... so we decided to lunch out...  Our initial plan was to lunch at Civil Service Club.  However, when we reached the Hilltop Chinese Restaurant at CSC, we realised that they only serve CNY Set Menu today, and no ala-carte....  We didn't feel like having set menu today, so we left the place....

Daddy then suggested Sakura at Science Centre...  We were lucky to get seats especially since we did not make any reservations....  There were really so many varieties of food and we were spoilt for choice.  However, I didn't quite like their presentation....  too mass....  but no complaints, since pricing was quite reasonable....
my favourite salmon sashimi....
amanda ate 2 plates of the spaghetti...
look at the cute bunny bun....  so cute and i couldn't bear to eat it...
we eventually did!... one for amanda and one for me....

Daddy and Amanda enjoyed their lunch but not me...  Phone smses came in non stop even while I was in the car on the way to the restaurant till when I finished my meal, and I lost all appetite.... sigh.....  Thank goodness I haven't been issued a Blackberry yet..... In fact, my phone has been beeping quite actively, especially after 12 midnight....  Where is MY weekend and where is MY LIFE??!!

Kampong Dayz

Daddy attended his Company's Dinner & Dance this evening...  This leaves just Amanda, my helper and myself at home for dinner tonight....

Theme for the dinner was Kampong Dayz.....  Daddy didn't want to dress to the theme as he wanted to keep a low profile....  but apparently, everybody complimented him on his dressing....  haha!!
Amanda and I felt so lonely on a Saturday night...  Daddy has never left us alone, especially weekend nights; which explains why I was able to blog and finally keep my posts updated...  Amanda kept SMSing Daddy non-stop to ask what time he would be back....  she felt much happier when Daddy replied her that he would be back at 10.30pm and that he had lots of Kampong goodies for her....  What a nice Daddy....

stylo daddy...  even ee ee commented that she has such a good looking brother-in-law, when i mmsed her daddy's photo....  heehee....
daddy's silhouette....
flight chess....  daddy loves it....
pick-up sticks, chat-teh, kuti-kuti & five stones...  ooh...  so so my generation...  ooops!!!... and it really brings back memories.....
daddy playing with babe the moment he got home from dinner....
and this colourful paper ball...  i loved this ball when i was young....  :))

Amanda was so happy when Daddy came back and showed her the goodies he brought back for her....  Daddy sure knows how to make our little Darling happy....

Supper At Crystal Jade Holland Village

We brought Babe out to Holland Village Crystal Jade for tim sum supper (our favourite late night tim sum haunt) as she hadn't been eating well the whole day since this morning's incident...  She was exceptionally happy during supper tonight and was hopping around in Holland V....  she must have gotten over the entire thing....
look at how happy she is....

daddy ordered the dumpling soup for himself...  in the end, amanda drank all the soup, while daddy ate the dumplings....
amanda simply loves eating chicken feet (in fact, our whole family loves it)...  even the waitresses were impressed at how clean she ate the chicken feet....

It was a very relaxing night out and we enjoyed ourselves so much (other than the numerous smses that I received throughout the meal)..... Amanda was wide awake when we reached home at midnight....

An Accident At Home!

This morning around elevenish, my helper called my mobile and anxiously told me that Amanda had accidentally sprayed Dettol into her lunch and ate it...  and Amanda even vomitted!!!  It so happened that there were 4 ants on the table and she decided to spray Dettol on the ants, without realising that her food was beside...  My helper happened to be upstairs clearing my room when she came down and realised the can of Dettol on the table...
the dettol antiseptic spray that amanda used to spray on the ants; without realising most of it went into her bowl of noodles....  sigh....

OMG!!!  I panicked when I heard that...  Then Amanda cried so pitifully....  "Mummy, I am going to die.....  I am dying soon...  Will I die???  Am I going to die??"....  I was almost in tears when I heard it and my heart ached so much...  I so much wanted to get out of my meeting and rush home to be with my baby!!!

I tried pacifying her that she would be alright, but I told Amanda not to go to school... However, she was very brave and such a good girl, and she insisted on going...  So I told my helper to make her a slice of buttered bread and a cup of warm water before her school bus came....  I also told her to call me from school the moment she feels any discomfort or pain....

I panicked once again during her recess time, when I saw her mobile number flashing on my mobile, and answered with shaky voice...  To my relief, she sounded so happy and called to inform me that she was feeling alright....  Phew!!!...  what a relief!

When she got home in the evening, she immediately called my mobile and she shouted "Mummy, I didn't die!!  I am still alive!!!"....  and my maid also told me later, that the moment she came out of the school bus, she ran to my maid and said, "Kakak, I didn't die, I didn't die!!!"

I couldn't help but laugh when I heard that...  So she was afraid throughout her hours in school...  poor babe...  no wonder she called me every few hours.....

What a close shave!...  Thank goodness nothing happened to her.........  My babe has certainly learnt her lesson to be more careful when she does anything.....

Happy 8th Birthday My Precious Babe!!

Happy 8th Birthday Darling!!!

We decided to invite a few of Amanda's close friends over for some fun on 21 February 2010... It was purely a girls' get together (with the exception of cousin Darren), so no adults and relatives were invited...  All guests were 8 year olds except for Eleanor who's 6 yrs old and Jingwen 7 yrs.... No catering and no Magician this time... Instead, we decided to have a Costume Party with the theme of your Dream Ambition...  heehee.... interesting ya?

Amanda dressed as a Surgeon..... *coughs coughs*...   not her ambition actually....  hahaha....  She had originally wanted to dress as a Vet. However, just an hour before the party, she changed her mind as she found it too troublesome to carry a toy dog around... She told me if she does not carry a dog, then it defeats the purpose of her dressing as a Vet... so cute...

However, only a few kids came dressed to the theme... Huiting came dressed as a Doctor too. Gracia cames as a Soldier, Sara as a Airforce Pilot, Eleanor dressed in some cute Army suit, Jamie as a Dancer, Darren as a Golfer, Hilary as a Superstar and the rest came in their casual clothes as a few of them told me they were dressed as teachers...
getting balloons for the party....
gifts for friends to bring home... personalised with their photo taken with the birthday girl...
before the party while waiting for her guests to arrive...

the lovely birthday girl....  her beautiful scrub suit with compliments from mama....
i bought this furry tiara for her but later realised it was a little mis-matched...  heehee....
lovely cake and lovely gal....
family photo...
this was taken 7 years ago on amanda's 1st birthday...  how my babe has grown and how i've aged over 7 years, but daddy seems to have eternal youth....
notice the similar outfit i was wearing...  i deliberately wore it again this year to make the comparison...  2003 vs 2010.... luckily i was able to fit into it, though it is now very tight and buttons and seams were almost bursting...  another 10kg to go before it will be as loose as in 2003.... haha!
notice the 2 of them both dressed as doctors?....  they are just like twins!...  ermm... well....  great minds think alike.... heehee....
girls dressed to the theme.... in uniform....

A big THANK YOU to the above friends who have made her birthday such a memorable one....

ee ee couldn't resist taking a picture with cute little eleanor....  she's just so lovable...
a group photo (absent fm photo were hilary, claire & chloe who arrived after this photo was taken)....

The kids had so much fun .... we played quite a few games, but because I was busy printing the photos out for the kids from my Sony Picture Station, I had forgotten to take pictures... Daddy was busy leading the games whilst EeEe was busy being the Timekeeper...  each of us have got a defined role.... hahaha!!!
amanda started the ball rolling...

After the kids had their stomachs filled, we gathered them for the cake cutting as some of the kids had to leave early because the next day was a school day....
the girls were impressed with amanda's cake...  and they went like "WOW!" when i took it out of the box...  i personally love it too...  i find it so sweet and lovely!... especially with the teddy bears, balloons, rainbow bridge and also the "happy birthday" candles...  it was just AWESOME!!!....
