Japanese Buffet Lunch

It was a last minute decision to try the Japanese Buffet Lunch here. Price was reasonable and food was ok (not exceptionally fantastic since spread was quite limited). What's more... UOB had promotion and we got S$2 discount per adult, plus free parking for above S$50. Daddy enjoyed himself so much while I had a few servings of my favourite salmon sashimi. Amanda didn't have much appetite but it was still worth it considering the price.... value for money....

Breather

I had "confined" Babe at home for the past 2 days to let her rest and recuperate. Today, as she appeared better, we have decided to take her out for a breather. We first had tea break at a Hong Kong Cha Chan Ting. Daddy & I had Spicy Beef Noodles and Amanda didn't have much appetite, so she chose Char Siew Bao and her favourite Chicken Feet. As usual, I had my favourite coffee, but today, ICED COFFEE... perfect for this super hot weather.... Daddy tried Hot Coke with Ginger and it was delicious. So we ordered a second glass of Hot Coke with Ginger. Boiled coke was supposedly good for cough. So let's see if it works since all of us are coughing.... We also bought this bright yellow ball for Amanda....

Next we headed to the park for some fresh air and to catch SUNSET..... Daddy & Amanda started kicking the ball which we just bought this afternoon. Amanda was still so active despite being ill. After all the running and sweating, Amanda felt much better.... LOOK AT HOW HIGH WE KICKED THE BALL!!!

Mother & Daughter Baking Bonds

Now that Amanda is feeling better, we can bake a cake together and we got all the ingredients laid out on the table. We realised that a simple sifting of flour requires skills too! Look at the mess we created and all the wasted flour on the table!

Our end result.... a not so pretty looking cake :( but it sure tastes yummy!

steamed sponge cake.....
We will try again... and bake a lovely cake for Kong Kong & Ma Ma

Babe is Recovering...

Babe is recovering... fever has subsided and she is now able to smile again....

Let's hope with Mummy's Tender Loving Care (TLC), she will recover fully by Sunday...

Poor Babe is Sick

Babe is sick! She's running a fever of 38.5 deg cel this morning and is also coughing.... Look at her burning red cheeks (left photo) as I was sponging her.... poor babe....

I have 4 days to nurse her back to health before school re-opens on Monday.... YES! We can make it!!!

Fun with Friends....

Rae has invited a few her classmates to her house.... a purely GIRLS' AFFAIR as only girls were invited.... Amanda has been very excited since Rae told her about the invite. I brought her to get a gift for Rae. We chose a soft toy as we reckoned Rae, being such a sweet gentle girl, would definitely love the Sanrio stuff.... Amanda told me Aunty Gladys showed them how to make sushi and they even got to try making it... They also ate spaghetti, fishballs, crackers etc and Aunty Gladys even organised so many games for the kids. They also played several boardgames like Monopoly, Scrabble and Othello.
special thanks to aunty gladys for organising this get-together for the gals... and for providing all the photos for the slide below for sweet remembrance...

Babe brought all these goodies back.....

according to Gladys, this pink container was supposed to be for the kids to pack sushi home for Daddy & Mummy, but the kids ate up all of them, leaving none behind.....

Amanda enjoyed herself so much and fell flat the moment she reached home... in fact she's still sleeping as I am blogging.... However, she is also down with fever of 38.0 deg cel all of a sudden. We were supposed to meet her cousin Darren for his birthday dinner celebration, but we did not go because of Amanda's fever.... Hopefully she will be fine after a good rest....

Babe's Flip Flops

Some 2 years ago, I bought a few pairs of flip flops for Amanda whilst on business trip in the Philippines... Of the 3 pairs of flip flops I bought from that trip, she only wore 1 i.e. the pink Havaianas (below).... I paid appproximately S$28 after conversion; which is supposedly cheaper as compared to Singapore.... the other 2 pairs were a little over-sized....

Today, finally she took out the 2 pairs of Mr Bean flip flops and was able fit into the red pair on the left and she wore it out..... the green pair on the right is still a little big.... oh dear... how on earth did I buy such a big pair 2 years ago??!!..... I bought a similar green pair of Mr Bean flip flop for my nephew too.... but it seems like I haven't seen him wear it too... :P

Cutie Cakes

Amanda was bored at home, so I decided to take her out for a breather.... Brought her to the Indonesian Embassy to collect my Maid's passport. Then I asked her where she wanted to go next. I proposed various places e.g. Secret Recipe, Fish & Co, Coffee Club, Coffee Bean, Hotel for Cheesecake, Ikea for Swedish Meatballs, New York New York etc... But guess where she chose and insisted on going?...... Mac Donalds. We went to King Albert Park MAC. After that, we popped in Bengawan Solo to take a look... and Amanda got so excited when she saw some very pretty cakes.....

guess what Amanda chose?

she chose WINX CLUB and BUGS BUNNY/TWEETY BIRD..... each piece costs S$3.50
moments before she sank her teeth into the cake.... and oh by the way... she chose to eat the WINX CLUB cake first....

Creative Baking

Amanda attended another school holiday activity i.e. Creative Baking. Today, she learnt to bake Cornflour Cookies and Chocolate Tarts. Rae attended it with her too. As usual, Amanda always enjoys such activities. She got to know a few friends in this class and one of the boy, Bryan, even asked for her mobile number and he called her immediately after they left class.... haha.....

I was a little disappointed with the outcome.... lacks presentation... but they do taste yummy :)

Complimentary Trial Lesson

I received an sms from the school that they were giving Amanda a complimentary trial class because she attended the June School Hols programme.... and we accepted, knowing very well that after the trial class, it would be "hard selling" time to persuade us to enrol her for it. But we still went ahead with it....
She enjoyed the lesson and learnt about Facts & Opinions in this lesson.... But I was not too impressed, so did not enrol her for the class.... plus, her weekends schedule is full....

Happy Fathers' Day

HAPPY FATHERS' DAY to all fathers!
and to my beloved father, a Happy Father's Day Papa...
and Happy Father's Day to Daddy darling.....
We celebrated Fathers' Day earlier as Sis & her family would be away on a Swiss/Paris holiday and Mum & Dad were also going away on a short trip... We enjoyed ourselves very much as it was family bonding time and there were 3 fathers around... Dad, Daddy & my bro-in-law....
kong kong & his lovely grandchildren....

the kidzzzz.... the couzzzz....
didn't put up our family photo cos mum had a sore on her mouth and some marks on her face that night and she didn't want to be seen "not pretty"....
