Letong's Birthday and Eat CURRY Day!

Amanda was invited to Letong's Golf Birthday Party in the afternoon, followed by dinner with Sonia... Incidentally, today was Eat Curry Day.. so we decided to have Indian food... hahaha....

it was almost 4pm by the time we went home to fetch daddy.... can you imagine we went all the way back to the east to have dinner with sonia and her daughters?  :p

the appetiser/starter tasted very special... sonia's 2 girls love it, but amanda and i didn't quite like it.... the dessert on the right was nice though...

hot and spicy night! food was delicious... even daddy who doesn't quite fancy indian food found it delicious....

ice cream at udders to coool us down... lol!!!  the girls later hopped over to the shop next door to watch border collies....

Just realised that the GEP Screening (Round 1) is 3 days' away i.e. 24 August 2011... Anyway, there's nothing much to prepare for it.... If you've got it, you've got it.... hehe....

A Major Decision

My friend Marie told me that she has just fostered a Sheltie on 11 August... Her name is Tinkerbelle... Tinker is a very petite dog and she is a Blue Merle Shetland Sheepdog....  Now... those who know me will know that I've always been afraid of dogs.... However, Amanda simply adores dogs and has been begging me to get one for her....  Amanda had no school today... So we decided to just drop by Marie's house today to take a look at Tinker...

We've of course been pre-empted on Tinker's current state.... scrawny and totally hairless.... BUT, the moment we stepped into Marie's house, Tinker just came up to me and gave me a look which says "Oh, please take me home" kind of expression.... awww..... so sweet..... heart melts....  She also went up to Daddy and Amanda and gave them a sweet gentle look...  She had speaking eyes..... :)

So immediately I said YES to Marie....  but deep inside me, I was a little scared.... Not because of her state, but rather, how I was going to live with a dog in my house when I've not overcome my fear yet....

this was how tinkerbelle looked when i first decided to adopt her....  people may think i'm crazy to do so... but my heart just goes out to her... i guess it must be the affinity between us.... :))

Marie was kind to say that she would take care of her for a while and also provide training to us (dog handling etc) till we were ready....

Malacca Getaway...

We decided to follow Kongkong and Mama to Malacca over the long weekend from 7 August to 9 August 2011.... It was a little rush, but we certainly enjoyed ourselves very much....  Wonderful time chilling and pigging out....

Daddy fetched us from Kongkong and Mama's house.... lazy Daddy brought Kakak along so that she could help to transfer our belongings from Kongkong's car to his car... hahaha.... Since Kakak didn't cook, we decided to dine out... Amanda suggested Samy's Banana Leaf Rice....  So here we are...



Oh yes, and HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!!!



Prefects' Project to Orphanage...

Amanda's classmates came over for a Prefects' Project which Amanda initiated....  A visit to the Orphanage... which apparently got lost in transit whilst getting the Principal's approval... What a pity...  but what to do, since the school places much emphasis on studies...  Haiz...

i prepared tea time for the kids... 2 of them pre-ordered spagh bolognaise whilst the other 2 ordered cheese spagh... we also had fishballs, nuggets, sushi, custard jelly and drinks... what a feast!

We've got a Visitor!

Prof R.S. is in town this week and we managed to find time to take him out to lunch...  He thoroughly enjoyed the Dim Sum and cannot wait to bring his wife over to try out the good stuff...

this picture was specially taken to show to Prof J.R.... apparently, Prof R.S. is using it to challenge her to try the chicken feet during her next trip... lol!

a briefing outing to clarke quay in search of a gift...  didn't realise it has changed so much....  couldn't find what we wanted there, so we proceeded to orchard to get it... and finally settling at lucky plaza for dinner... yummy sharks' fin and mini buddha jumps over the wall dinner... the simple style...

29 July - Ah Yat Lunch and Dinner at Jack's Place...

30 July - Finally brought Daddy and Amanda to try Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh... I tried here once with my ex-colleagues and thought the Bak Kut Teh here is awesome... but somehow have never had the chance to bring Daddy and Amanda here to try... and the verdict from Daddy and Amanda???....  2 Thumbs UP!!!



Lunch at Mama's, Amanda's New Specs, Nespresso & Fruits Galore

22 July - Lunch at Mama and Kongkong's place... Daddy helping to wash up after the meal... Not bad huh? LOL!!

23 July - Amanda's New Specs and Universal Studios....  We brought Amanda to Mee Mee Optics again for a new pair of specs as Daddy says her current plastic specs doesn't look too good on her... Well, her power has increased slightly... only 25 degrees per eye... but that's quite a bit over 4 months too....

26 July -  My new Nespresso Machine, like finally... hahahaha.... and no regrets at all... In fact, after drinking their coffee, I am beginning to dislike drinking Starbucks and Coffee Bean's coffee... Pale in comparison... LOL!

so many colours to choose from... we had initially wanted red, but daddy saw the titanium red and said it wasn't too nice, so we chose blue... daddy and i so love shopping in takashimaya on a monday morning... peaceful...
