Randoms for the week and more Durians!

ZH's Bday, Bro-in-Law & Durians!

10 July 2011 - Amanda attended ZH's birthday today... Apparently only 2 girls from the school were invited... The rest were boys...  It's much easier to buy pressies for girls than boys... I shopped for a long time before deciding on the Nike Haversack...

During the party, we received a phone call from Bro-in-law... Left the party early to fetch him over to our house before he returns to NZ...

a light snack at al-ameen as he had already taken his dinner...

we heated and toasted the youtiao for him to try....  and bro-in-law having a second cup of tea... this time tea halia, as he's missing it... the first cup at al-ameen was normal teh tarik... :)

12 July 2011 - Kongkong and Mama came over to deliver Rendang to us, and at the same time they bought us durians!

13 July 2011 - Decided to take out my "white elephant"... My Jack LaLanne's Juice Extractor I bought some 10 years ago... Machine's extremely silent and most importantly, I am able to put the entire apple in, without having to cut it up... and the pulp that comes out, is super dry, which means to say, the fruits are squeezed to the max for their juice... :))  Hmm, why didn't I take it out earlier?

as usual, she's curious about the extractor and wants to try using it!

Geylang Adventure

Our Geylang Adventure this weekend....  Started off with Turtle House for turtle soup (of course)....

daddy and i ordered yam rice while amanda preferred white rice... the turtle herbal soup tasted simply heavenly... and did i mention the soup was free flow? they would keep topping it up when they see it half full...  :))

this was followed by geylang's famous youtiao and smelly toufu....  in case you're wondering if our stomachs are bottomless pits? ermm, well no.... we packed all of them back....

daddy almost puked in the car because of the smelly toufu.... lol!!!.... i was surprised amanda didn't mind the taste and she actually shared the toufu with me! ahh, i now have kaki for smelly toufu.... kekeke!!

Randoms....

decided to take a picture of the railway since we didn't have time to walk along the tracks before it's closure...

she simply loves the beef stew at cedele... brought her to eat it after her prefect training...

Kota Tinggi School Trip & Couple Time

The day's finally here for Amanda's Kota Tinggi School Trip. Amanda's very excited about this trip and has been looking forward to it since the day she was selected for the trip.

We decided not to let her bring camera as we were afraid that she would get too engrossed in photo-taking and end up being left behind by the group. Moreover, the school said that they would be taking pictures for the kids on our behalf... Hmm, talking about that, we've yet to receive the photos from their teachers... Aiya....

amanda was on bus 1, but i only managed to get a close-up picture of bus 3....

mrs foo (no, not the lady here) came out to pray with the kids before sending them off personally at the buses...  so sweet of her...

pizza hut dinner after her trip... apparently they were having a promo and it was the last day... but food was really bad that night... it took them ages to serve us cold chicken! boo!

Whilst Amanda was away for the day trip, Daddy and I went for a morning walk at Bt Timah Hill.... no pictures for that.... followed by breakfast at Cedele....   I decided to try baking Moist Choc Cake today too, since I had extra free time.  BUT, it seems my friend missed out an ingredient in the recipe and my cake didn't turn out well... *sob sob*.... Anyway, I'm gonna try it again...

Home-made Chicken with Chicken Essence and Rochor Beancurd

trying to cook the froggy dish we tried at the coffeeshop, but replacing it with chicken... taste was fantastic! hmm, not bad! i was able to taste out the various ingredients put it....  lol!!

at night, we were craving for rochor beancurd and youtiao, so we drove out to satisfy our craving... we were shocked to see the crowd Q-ing outside the shop!

Finally trying out the Changi Village Wantan Noodles my friend recommended....  It was really delicious and worth the drive there...  :)  We didn't eat there as the hawker centre was a little stuffy... Hence we packed it home.. but the moment we got into the car, we couldn't resist the aroma from the noodles, and decided to park at one of the carparks by the beach and devour the noodles immediately.... hahahaha....

bonding time for daddy and amanda... darren coming over to play with kai.... and dining by the beach (al fresco!)... lol...

We were invited to the launch of the new C-class Coupe on 3 July, so we decided to drop by since we had nothing much to do over the weekend... Nothing impressive and a waste of time... bleah!
