Our Friday Night

After Amanda and I got back from the hospital visit, Daddy arrived home too...  So off we went for our Friday night family bonding...  makan again.....  :))

she's such a die-hard fan of her ipoh hor fun.....

Cousin Darren Is Ill...

Darren was rushed to the A&E of KKH on 3 May night for suspected acute appendicitis and was operated on, the very next morning once it has been confirmed....

daddy and i went over to visit him on the night of the operation....  i was stuck in the office till 9pm and i went home to meet daddy first before going in 1 car, so by the time i arrived at kkh it was already 9.45pm....

amanda prepared this for darren the moment she reached home...  quite innovative cos she had a "pull here" and also the "just tear" which she made it so easy to remove with the double scotch tape she used...  amanda was not able to join us to visit him because she had english paper 1 the next day....

she drew this in school during art lesson....  so sweet of her.....  :))

What's even funnier was the letter that she wrote to him.... 

see below....  pardon the grammatical and spelling error, but I thought it was very sweet of her to write Darren this letter and I could immediately sense the innocence and genuinity of an 8 year old girl.....  *smiles*....

i cannot enlarge it any further because i had accidentally taken it in landscape...  the format of my blog only allows portrait to be enlarged....  her letter was really hilarious....  she replaced the word operation with the "boy" symbol and also made a cut at the stomach....  she's sooo cute...  such an imaginative girl....  hahaha.....

Amanda finally got to visit Darren on 7 May....  Boy, was she excited!  She gobbled her dinner within 5 minutes and the moment I arrived home, she was all ready to go....  We met Kongkong, MaMa and Ee Poh at the hospital.

bought these 2 books for darren....

Darren told me on thurs night around 8plus that he likes beast quest story books...  so off I went with Daddy to Popular to get them for him...  went over to Bt Timah but by the time I arrived there, it was 9.07pm and the Popular there just closed 7 mins ago....  sigh...  So we immediately rushed to IMM...  I rushed up to the bookstore while Daddy ran an errand at the UOB kiosk.  As I was paying at the counter, I asked the guy what time they close, and guess what he said?...  He said "we are closing now"...  wow, I am so lucky!  Coincidentally, as I was out of the store, I met Janie and her family...  hey, what a coincidence right?...  We always seem to bump onto each other....

Darren was discharged on Mother's Day, 9 May (Sunday)....  slightly earlier than scheduled...  :))  Wishing Darren a Speedy Recovery.....

Fun at Dempsey

We decided to have our dinner at Dempsey's Muthu's Flavours today...  We arrived there early only to realise that the restaurant opens at 6pm; which means we had some time to wander around this estate....  Daddy chose to walk around instead of driving, and he said walking around this area brings back memories of his army days.... the parade square, armskote room, cookhouse etc...   Daddy also told us this was the place where he exchanged his pink I/C for green I/C for 2.5 years....  hmmm....  those were the days.... 

we were surprised to see this entire area with so many parrots around....  they were such a beautiful sight....  and guess what?....  they were not chained!....  amanda was quite scared that they would fly to her....  heehee...

i playfully said "hello" and one of them replied me....  lol....  but that was the one and only "hello" that they made....  the parrots refused to repeat after daddy and amanda....  haha...

i love this shot....  the blue skies, green grass and the building....  my camera's not bad too, considering that it was very dark outdoors....  :)

Incidentally, late at night, Daddy heard the croaking sounds of a frog....  OMG!  I guess a frog must have entered into our garden!....  first time since we shifted here eleven years ago.....  YUCKS!!!.....  Immediately Daddy and Amanda ran into the garden on a "Frog Hunt"....  heehee....

amanda was funny...  she ran out with a torch and binoculars in her hands for the frog hunt....  hahaha....

They looked around for a while but didn't manage to find the frog...  but strange enough, we never heard the croaks of the frog anymore....  :))

Kongkong's New Car....

Kongkong collected his new car two weeks ago....  They were very lucky as they booked the car way before the COE sky-rocketed, and by the time they collected their car, the car's value has already gone up by almost S$15,000 I think...  hmmm...  what perfect timing!  Lucky Kongkong and Mama.....

kongkong, mama and daddy....  all looking so happy....  amanda was not back from her enrichment yet...  thanks to janie for helping to fetch amanda back...  i'm so grateful to her and her hubby for fetching as i was able to catch some beauty nap today and last week.....  :))

Old Ponggol Choon Seng Seafood Restaurant

Happy Labour Day to all....

We were supposed to have a family dinner at Buckaroo with Kongkong, Mama and Ee Ee's family tonight but Kongkong and Mama cancelled it in the last minute as they had their errands to run....  So instead, our family went for dinner at Old Ponggol Choon Seng Seafood Restaurant at Greenwood Avenue today...  Our first time at this restaurant but the waiter told us that they are the original Ponggol Seafood with the famous Ponggol Mee Goreng....  We didn't try the Mee Goreng today, but will make sure we do so the next time....

This morning, Daddy had something to do, so I brought Amanda to try Burger King breakfast; her very first time eating it, and she loves it so much....  We almost missed the breakfast as we woke up late at 10am....  After all the turning around in the car park, I managed to find a parking lot on the 3rd floor, and we were practically running towards the escalators down to Burger King...  Guess what time we reached Burger King counter???  10.59am....  PHEW!!!  After breakfast I brought her to Popular Bookstore and bought her 4 storybooks which made her really happy!
