Babe's Version of CJ7

Amanda just loves drawing.....

Last night, we were watching CJ7 movie on Channel U and immediately after the show, Amanda started drawing the cute little thingy.... Look at what she has drawn below....

by the way, she took only a few minutes to draw this close to midnite....

Amanda's Weekend....

Amanda's weekends are usually filled with activities and enrichment classes which she thoroughly enjoys...

Amanda also begged us to bring her to the Science Centre again..... Errmmmm..... young & budding scientist?! She was very excited to try out the various activities and to watch the show, and she even volunteered Daddy to participate in one of the activity!!!

Babe's Upcoming School Vacation Activities

The school holidays are just round the corner here! YES! Now that I am less busy and able to chauffeur my Babe around, I have decided that I am going to make it up to her! How?...........

By signing up for several Holiday Programmes for her so that she can enjoy herself during the entire month of June instead of cooping up at home watching television.... I had long wanted to do this for her, but because of extremely busy work commitments, I have not been able to do so till now..... but it's better late than never.... :)

I have registered her for a series of activities starting from 1st June 2009 (Mon)..... oh yeah.... BABE is going to have lots of fun this vacation.... I'm so excited for her!

Bedtime Reading

Amanda has recently cultivated Bedtime Reading habit of reading a book before she goes to bed. I am extremely pleased with her progress.... One year ago, she was not able to read any books, and I was so worried as I started doing my last minute "coaching" to Amanda... and in 3 months' time by July 2008, she was able to read Enid Blyton books...

and now......

she's rushing with me to read MY BOOK.... *smiles*

An Afternoon at Singapore Science Centre

It was a last minute decision to visit the Singapore Science Centre and it turned out to be an extremely enjoyable one for Amanda.....

Amanda tried out various activities there. One of the main reason why she tried out so many activities was because she wanted to get lots of bookmarks and prizes that the student volunteers were giving out today. She even volunteered herself on stage in front of a crowd of almost 300 people.... what a brave girl!

Amanda enjoyed herself so much and when she reached home, she asked for 2 pieces of bread with Nutella.... and then all of a sudden, it was super quiet..... We went over to take a peek. Guess what???..... my babe has dozed off whilst lying on the sofa and watching television.......... sweet dreams...... zzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Amanda's Art Work

Amanda has displayed great improvement after 2 art lessons. Today, she attended her 3rd art class. Daddy and I were surprisingly pleased with her results tonight.... not to mention Amanda herself feeling so proud of her work! What a good way to de-stress especially after her final paper for SA1 this afternoon.....

Oh dear.... I feel really bad for not sending her for art classes earlier when she asked me for it a few years ago..... I'm a bad mummy....

Happy Mother's Day

To all the Mothers out there..... a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY..... and to my dearest MUM.... Happy Mummy's Day.... I LOVE YOU!!!.... and to myself.... Happy Mommy's Day!!! yeah.....

I am so HAPPY and TOUCHED!

On Friday, my Babe bought me a lovely PINK ROSE (though the colour in the picture below looks a little off) from her school bookshop for Mother's Day! This is the 1st time she is using her own pocket money to buy me a gift all on her own.... how sweet and thoughtful of her.....

Besides the Pink Rose that she bought, Amanda also made all these for me.....

and Daddy bought the PowerTap for me as a Mother's Day gift to relieve my aching shoulders.... how sweet.... incidentally, my sister and i also got one of this for our Mum as a Mother's Day gift too....

I am just so HAPPY today!

Bedtime Yoga

Good morning! As promised, we got Amanda to do some Yoga poses just before bedtime last night; and we took some pictures of her doing it.... Amanda being a "little nightbird" (just like us) was of course delighted to perform and entertain us than to get her to sleep early!

Errr... well, the mats are downstairs, and we were to lazy to go downstairs to get it, hence she's doing it without the mat (though it was quite slippery).....

Child Yoga

Last night, as Daddy and I went upstairs to the bedroom, we caught Babe in the room all by herself, trying to do YOGA... It was such an amazing and cute sight to see a little girl holding my Yoga for Women book in her right hand, whilst using her left hand to balance her stance....

No wonder it was so quiet upstairs.... so here she was trying to practise YOGA before bedtime.... haha.... Guess she was under very strong influence as both Daddy and myself are big fans of Yoga, and at times, she will also accompany us to the classes.... though she will be excused from some poses...

We were too amazed at her actions as we admired her pose, that I forgot to take a picture of her doing the Tree Pose.... It's such a joy watching our Babe grow..... Will get her to do a few poses some time and post it on the blog....

She was trying to do the TREE POSE!!!... and she was real good!!!Just to share a joke about Babe during one of the Yoga classes.... during the last 15 minutes of the lesson when we were doing the "relaxation" and when the lights were off and we were lying on our backs with hands and legs slightly apart... Amanda was sooo comfortable in this position that after a few minutes, I could hear a light SNORE..... that was so cute and all of us giggled.... and at the end of the lesson when the Master rang the bell gently to bring awareness back to us, Amanda was still sleeping eventhough all of us were seated up with palms faced together.... Daddy and I had to physically "nudge" her a little to wake her up....

Maths Enrichment Class

After having spent some quality time with Amanda, I just realised that my long neglected babe is rather weak in her Maths.... coupled with the coming SA1.... I am now in PANIC and beginning to feel the "EXAM FEVER".... English Paper 1 and Paper 2, Chinese Paper 1 and Paper 2 and Mathematics.... OMG!!!

ARRRGGHHH!!!! This is too stressful for a 7 year old! What happened to those days when 7 year old kids were sooo innocent and care-free??!!

Hence, we decided to enrol her for Maths Enrichment class..... though Primary 1 is very easy and both Daddy and myself could easily teach her, we decided against it.... cos each time I teach her, I will start screaming at the top of my voice and this may affect our relationship.... and for Daddy, he may end up teaching her SIMULTANEOUS EQUATION instead of PARTS.... haha!!!

Her 1st lesson started today.... Amanda was very happy, keen and excited to attend the class as she knows she is getting some professional help soon... look at her face!!!

Let's hope she will show vast improvement after a few months of professional help....
