Amanda's Favourite "Nightspot" cum "Playground"

Amanda has been very stressed up lately.... so today being a Friday, we decided to bring her to her favourite "nightspot"cum "playground" i.e. Changi Airport Terminal 3.... after her art class. She likes it here because of the vast space and super cold air-con and each time the moment she arrives T3, she'll become exceptionally hyper and happy..... afterall, who doesn't want your child to be happy and healthy physically and mentally.....
During one of our trips here, we also met Amanda's Primary school principal who happened to come here for air-conditioned brisk walking around midnight.... :) and she was surprised to see Amanda hopping around close to midnight....

supper first before playtime for amanda.... (& oh we missed taking the picture of the har gouw)....

our health nut daddy has suddenly turned to laksa craves.... but this tastes horrible and a total waste of calories and cholesterol (1 out of 5) compared to newton food centre (4.5 out of 5)....
amanda's favourite spot... the crayon colouring section.....

mummy's artwork....

daddy's artwork.....

check out her pout.....

bonding time......

lovely playground.....

it's play time..... and she's still wide awake eventhough it's already close to midnight...

ummm... what shall i play next???

my happy babe......

Besides the above playthings, there is also a Bookshop which Amanda loves... She also enjoys going to the NTUC Fairprice to browse at the LEGOs as they have a very wide range there. A recent "New Kid on the Block" is the KIDS CORNER which was newly created.... very lovely with large colourful carpets and comfy sofas, small tables and most importantly a large television which shows all the Disney Kids cartoons 24 hours..... We wanted to take a picture of it but there happened to be a big group of people there and we didn't want to be disturbing them with our flashes.... next time maybe :)

The trip to Changi Airport Terminal 3 has always been very therapeutic for Amanda.... and she really looks forward to each trip there.... Simple, economical yet very fulfilling and happy family bonding past-time.....

Book Fair In School

There was a Book Fair in school from 30 July to 31 July. Yesterday, Babe wanted to get the ICE AGE 3 story book but was told that it was sold out. So today, I drove her to school slightly earlier so that she could get the book first before school starts, just in case the ICE AGE 3 book gets sold out by Recess Time and she will be disappointed (heehee... typical kiasu mum). But when she came back from school this evening, she told me she had bought 2 books! 1 was before school started and the other was during Recess....
a very happy amanda who is very satisfied with her buys.......
Babe shared with me in the car during our drive home that initially she could not decide if she should buy Little Miss Quick or Little Miss Stubborn.... Then she decided to ask the "uncle" which was more interesting.... and he said "Little Miss Quick" and she took his opinion! I felt very amused that she has learnt to ask for opinion and she told me
"I learnt it from Mummy..... I ever heard you asking Uncle or Aunty which is better..... so now I asked Uncle lor....."

Haha! She's sooo cute..... YES! I do have a habit of asking the shop staff which looks better or which is nicer etc when I can't decide.... and all these while my babe has been observing the way I buy things and she's following me now...... *smiles*......

Yummy Crabs

It's been a while since we went out for supper during weekdays.... Today, Daddy suggested that we go to Mellben Seafood for Crabs.... to celebrate all of us clearing our medical examination and most importantly, me passing my medical check-up plus me being certified "cholesterol free".... *yippeee*!!! To sidetrack a little, I have just submitted all complete documents including our medical reports to our agent this afternoon.... which means we are another step nearer to our plan......
So given my excellent medical results, I can pamper myself a little by eating some sinful food tonight..... :)

fried vermicell with crab......

amanda eyeing on the pincers.....

our all-time favourite which we never fail to order.... claypot crab beehoon.... soup tastes excellent!

a very satisfied amanda!!!

It was a very sinful yet satisfying supper..... definitely worth the calories and cholesterol.... and do you know who enjoyed the most tonight?

A Date With The School Dentist

Babe has an appointment with the school Dentist this morning as she has been complaining of a toothache since last week.... This was not her first visit to the school dentist... in fact, she is quite regular at the dentist and her last visit was 2 months' ago....

dentist asked amanda to choose which goggles she prefers.... how sweet of her :)

babe chose the one with the dark blue frame and is trying it on whilst the dentist retrieves her records....

my babe looking cool and calm.....

The dentist told me she enjoys working on Amanda's teeth as Amanda is a very brave little girl and has always been very co-operative throughout the entire treatment.... Amanda is scheduled for the next review in a week's time....

Amanda's First Try at Pedal Go-Karting

Amanda tried her very first Pedal Go-Karting at West Coast Park today. She was very excited when she saw all the Go-Karts for rent.... Rental was S$12 for 30 mins.
amanda testing out the brakes of the go-kart (by lifting the handle on the right)
ready.... get set.... GO!!!!
Amanda was pedaling away very quickly whilst Daddy & myself were running after her and watching over her at the same time...

She was the envy and attention of many at the park as not many people knew about this little shop at the corner and many people stopped us to ask where we had rented this pedal go-kart....

a proud amanda!!! and by the way, she's really good at handling this go-kart...
It was such a coincidence! We saw Vincent, Fong Ling and Faith at the park as we were running after Amanda.... and we stopped to chat whilst the two girls caught up with each other. Faith was formally from the same Primary School as Amanda, but she has since transferred out to a Girls' School after the June holidays...

amanda letting faith have a go at the pedal go-kart

We chatted for quite a while and exceeded the timing of the go-kart and we ended up paying 1 hour for it at S$24.....

amanda zooming back to the kiosk to return the go-kart....

Later in the night, we went to Daddy's favourite stall at Marsiling for Kway Chap. As mentioned in my earlier blog, Daddy patronised this stall almost 10 years ago... and has lost touch with it since then... and after 10 years, he finally found it!!!

it was amanda's 1st time trying the pig's stomach and intestines....

she tried the large and small intestines..... but didn't quite like them....

BUT..... she loves the pig's stomach and soup very very much!!!

...

...

and as if she didn't have enough of it......

...

...

...

she asked us to order another bowl of the pig's stomach soup as take-away for her to savour it at home later..... *smiles*.....

oh how similar her taste buds are to daddy....

like father like daughter.....

School Excursion to Singapore Zoological Gardens

Amanda went to the Singapore Zoological Gardens for her school excursion today. She was very excited about this outing as this was their first school outing for the year! She asked to bring her camera so that she could take pictures with her friends and of the animals. As the battery of her Canon camera is running low on lifespan, I brought her to buy a new battery so that she could enjoy herself taking as many shots as she wanted.

things she packed into her bag for the excursion

Things she packed included : water, bread, snacks, cap, wallet, mobilephone, storybook, small notebook, pencil case with pencil & eraser and lastly her Canon Ixus camera....

an eager & excited amanda all ready for the trip!

Amanda took many pictures at the zoo, including pictures of some of her friends. Unfortunately, she was too engrossed taking pictures and videos that she forgot to take pictures of herself with her friends at the zoo.....

Amanda enjoyed herself at the zoo very much especially with her friends. However, she told me she prefers going with us even more... She said going with teachers has got lots of restrictions e.g. fixed place to sit, can only see what teachers want them to see and not what she wants to see and lastly, the teachers do not allow them to buy souvenirs at the zoo :( Now she's bugging us to bring her to the zoo again this weekend.
