Hello there!

Hello there! I’m back after such a long  hiatus... How time flies.. my precious babe is already 18 years old...

Gonna post my family dinner we had yesterday at Peach Garden at Thomson Plaza... will be posting just a few of the more delicious dishes eg baked lobster in truffle oil, roasted crispy London duck in dang gui sauce, smoked duck with fresh mangoes and plum sauce and also fried prawns with salted egg yolk 🥰

Happy birthday baby!

Time flies..  My little darling has turned 12, and will be sitting for her PSLE very soon.... As hubby always says, life is not all about studies and good results... Hence, we're going really easy on her for the coming exam...

What's most important is that they lead a happy, fruitful and memorable childhood... In fact hubby is against the idea of little darling trying for DSA and he wants her to continue secondary education in her current school and be a happy girl who will eventually emerge as a fine young lady as she enters the society, world-ready...  Hmm... Well, we'll see how it goes...

Of lunches and books....

Little darling had ELDDS after school today, hence I had more free time... so decided to take Mum and Dad out for lunch at Dome Cafe, Shaw House. It was an enjoyable meal and quality bonding time spent...

These books arrived a few days back. Little darling's so excited and cannot wait to immerse herself in the world of books! Just when the exams are over! How timely...

A lazy Tuesday afternoon...

A public holiday today and we're stuck at home... Little darling has ongoing exams, so we decided to stay home these few days, since we've already had our fair share of fun over the weekend...

By the way, I've just ordered 12 books online for little darling and myself! Can't wait to receive them... Ooohhh, the beauty of online shopping when you're stuck at home during such times.... Hee!

Finally got a chance to try their chicken rice... Not exactly impressed with their food despite the crowd and long queue, though I must say their shrimp dumplings were good!

I love my birthday cake this year... It's simply awesome cake! Simple celebration this year since it's the exam period...  Anyway, to me, everyday's a birthday when one is happy....

10 October... Happy 20th Wedding Anniversary

Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary today... Simple tea time together... Just Daddy and me...

It's certainly no easy feat for a marriage to hit 20 years... We have made it! And we're looking forward to more good years to come...

Reflections of 2012

Wow! I realized I haven't been blogging for the entire year... So I decided to drop a post here to end off 2012 as we usher in 2013...

2012 has been a very busy and eventful year for me.... With my little darling transferring to a new school as well as me being heavily involved in her school's Parent Support Group... Met lots of mummies there and we certainly forged great friendship and the girls had lots of play dates too....

NZ Summer Holiday - Day 4

It's Chistmas Eve today... how nice to be celebrating it overseas... but then again, I've got to remind myself not to ever come NZ during Christmas Eve especially on Christmas Day... cos most of the shops are closed on Christmas Day!  Just found out from my sis-in-law who lives here, that shops will be fined if they operation on Christmas Day!!! Shops which need to operation on that day will need to get a license and subject to approval... GOSH!!!

rewinding back to 6 years ago..... wonderful memories.....

NZ holds many wonderful memories for us, especially Lake Taupo, as we were here with Amanda when she was 3 years old.... photos above were taken in Lake Taupo and Hamilton...

Anyway, now back to our summer hols... We woke up all excited about our trip.. as usual, we prefer to have a good night's rest since we're on a holiday... checked out of the hotel at 10am and off we went to Lake Taupo, stopping over at McDonalds for brekkie 30mins after the journey...

fresh milk delivery??... haha...  we couldn't wait for our lavender soak in the jacuzzi... oh yes, this cottage has a private walkway that leads us to lake taupo... awesome, isn't it?

guess what?! we chanced upon the motel we stayed in taupo 6 years ago!!.. so amanda went up to the same unit and took a picture... past vs present... :)

snacked at burger king (not much choice since most of the restaurants were about to close for the eve)... decided to take away fish and chips for late dinner as we knew we would be hungry after our swim at the lake...  took some pictures while waiting for the fish and chips... look at the doggy park... how interesting...

gosh, the water was really icy cold at 11 deg cel... we were the only one swimming in the lake at 7pm... a caucasian lady was telling us that we are one of the gungho chinese who dares to swim at this time and at this temperature... hehe.... now come to think of it... why did the sky turn dark so fast in lake taupo? in auckland, it only turned dark at 9pm....

amanda brought her xmas sock with her to nz... and she placed her letter to santa inside the sock!... the tree was part of our cottage xmas decor, so we conveniently hung the sock there.....

Ahhh.... what a way to spend our Christmas Eve this year... spending precious moments with your family... lovely isn't it?....
